The wallet
One account, opened in your name when your SIM is registered, held at a licensed bank. Z-Connect runs the app and the counters; the money sits with the bank.
Getting money in
Cash at any church branch, kiosk or agent. Transfers from another bank account. Salary or grant payments deposited straight in. Money received from another Z-Connect wallet.
Cash inSpending it
Airtime, data, your device instalment, your insurance premium, electricity, water, DStv, school fees, bus and event tickets, and anywhere a card is accepted once you order yours.
SpendSending it
Wallet to wallet, instantly and free between Z-Connect members. Cash-out for the person receiving it at any kiosk or agent.
SendChurch and project collections
Branches and projects can collect tithes, contributions and project funds digitally, with a record for the treasurer and a receipt for the member.
CollectionsKeeping it safe
PIN on every transaction, alerts on the phone, and a card you can freeze yourself in the app. Report a lost phone and the kiosk suspends the wallet immediately.
SecurityDevices on instalment
Most members are on a smartphone that cannot do 4G properly. Device finance, run with 3G Mobile, is how we fix that without asking for the full price up front.
How it works
Pick a handset, router or tablet at a kiosk. The instalment is set over 12 or 24 months and collected from your wallet on a date you choose. Pay it off early at any time with no penalty.
Affordability is checked before the sale, and the total you will repay is shown on the agreement before you sign it.
What you can finance
Entry-level eSIM-capable 4G and 5G smartphones, home routers for fixed wireless, and tablets for schoolwork. Device insurance can be added to the same instalment so a lost phone does not become a debt you cannot use.
| Device | Typical term | Comes with |
|---|---|---|
| Entry smartphone (4G, eSIM-capable) | 12 or 24 months | SIM, starter bundle, optional device cover |
| 5G smartphone | 24 months | SIM, larger data bundle, optional device cover |
| Fixed-wireless router | 12 or 24 months | Home line, setup at the kiosk |
| Tablet | 24 months | Data bundle, optional device cover |
Device finance is credit. It is regulated under the National Credit Act, affordability is assessed before approval, and missing instalments affects your credit record. Ask the agent for the total cost of credit before you sign.
Cover for the family
Underwritten and administered by Kganya Insurance Administrators, Sanlam and Vodacom Financial Services. Premiums come off your wallet with the rest of the household’s bills.
Device cover
Theft, loss and accidental damage on a financed handset, router or tablet. Claim at the kiosk where you bought it.
DeviceFuneral cover
Family funeral policies through the ZCC ecosystem, paid monthly from the wallet, with claims handled at branch level.
FuneralLife cover
Straightforward life policies sized for household income, sold with an adviser rather than over the phone.
LifeHospital cash
A daily cash payment while a member is admitted, to cover transport, food and lost income rather than medical bills.
HospitalAdvances when you are short
Run with Airvantage. Small, short advances on the things a household cannot go without, repaid from your next wallet load.
Airtime and data advance
Get a bundle now when your balance is empty — the most common reason people lose a day’s work or a school deadline.
AdvanceElectricity advance
A prepaid electricity token before payday, repaid automatically when money next comes into the wallet.
AdvanceGrocery advance
A capped grocery amount at participating retailers, for the gap between the end of the money and the end of the month.
AdvanceHow the fee works
A fixed service fee shown before you accept, not a compounding rate. Your limit grows as you repay and shrinks if you do not.
Fixed feeAdvances are a form of credit. Borrow only what you can repay from your next income, and check the fee on the screen before accepting. Repeated missed repayments will reduce or close your limit.
Z-Rewards
A loyalty programme that pays back in the things members actually use — data and airtime — rather than points that expire before they are worth anything.
Recharge
Every airtime or data purchase earns rewards, whether you buy R5 or R500. Buying more often is not penalised.
Pay on time
Device instalments and insurance premiums paid on time earn extra, because that is the behaviour that keeps prices low for everyone.
Bring the household
Adding a family member to a share plan earns both of you a data bonus once their SIM has been active for a month.
Spend it
Redeem for data, airtime, a month off your instalment, or a Konekta day pass. Rewards do not expire while your line is active.
All of it bills from the same wallet, on a date you pick.
Mobile, home internet, the phone you are paying off, cover and advances — one account, one balance, one place to ask when something is wrong.
